Join us as we board our taxi (minivan) to Soweto on a tour where we will catch a glimpse of the City of Joburg while listening to the story of the City of Gold as told by your guide. our first stop is that of of the Aparthheids Museum - where you will be allowed to spend 2 and 1/2 hours in this amazing museum, learning from the past period under apartheid rule . From there on its off to Soweto, South Africa’s largest township, with over 3.5 million inhabitants. Not before we stop @ Soccer City - "The Calabash" stadium as its known to the local football fans and host to the finale in the 2010 FIFA tournament. We enjoy lunch beneath the iconic Orlando Towers @ Chaf Pozi, where shisa nyama is on the menu We continue through the suburbs past Winnie Mandela's house, a quick stop @ Hector Peterson Museum and memorial site, VilakaziStreet, past homes of Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu as well as the corner where Hector Peterson was shot. We will take a walk through the market place near Baragwana Taxi rank, experiencing the sigts, sounds and smells of open-air butchers, traditionel healers and stalls on your way - a true soweto experience
